It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra broke the dry spell of Bollywood at the box office. Now Akshay Kumar is all set to release his upcoming film Ram Setu, which will clash with Ajay Devgn’s film Thank God. While both the films are backed by big Bollywood stars, it remains to be seen which one rings the cash register bell.

After Suryavanshi, Akshay Kumar has not given any big hit yet. His previous films like Bachchan Pandey, Samrat Prithviraj and Raksha Bandhan could not strike the right chord with the audience. The films did average business at the ticket window, causing a loss to the producers.

Meanwhile, since the release of the poster, teaser and trailer of the film, Ram Setu has also received criticism from the audience. Many alleged that the film picked up several scenes from various Hollywood films and also criticized the poor VFX.

Ajay Devgn, on the other hand, has been a part of big budget films like RRR and Gangubai Kathiawadi which turned out to be hits. Though his Runway 34 fared below the expectations, Ajay has kept the audiences guessing with the trailer release of Drishyam 2.

Looking at the ongoing buzz, there might be chances that Ajay has the upper hand at the box office as compared to Akshay. But since both the films are releasing on the festival of Diwali, the audience can treat both the films with equal love and spend some quality time with family in theatres. Both the actors have started their career together and have a huge fan following. Hence the hope of doing good business on the festival of lights, thanks to Ram Setu and God.
