After a long wait of 13 years, Avatar: The Way of Water (Avatar 2) has finally hit the market. The film would have come a little earlier but the pandemic pushed it forward by a few years. It would not be wrong to say that the original avatar is an emotion for many. The cinematic masterpiece that transported us to the fictional land of Pandora gave us visuals that stayed in our minds long after we left the theater. Avatar: The Way of Water was made on a budget of US$350 million. As per estimates, it should generate more than USD two billion to be certified as a truly profitable venture. This time, we are transported from the jungles of Pandora to the mighty seas of a plant-like Earth. Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) are parents to four children, living a blissful family life until humans return to invade Pandora again. We are sure millions of people will watch Avatar: The Way of Water because this is one movie that you cannot miss. But here’s our review to prepare you a bit. What is it about?
Jake Sully and Neytiri are happily raising four children in Pandora. The film focuses on the various temperaments of their children, particularly Lok (Britain Dalton) who is rebellious. The joy is short-lived as the sky people return. This time the US has come with its might and prowess in the form of naval avatar. Sully and his family take refuge with the Metkayina clan. They live along the seashore with the aquatic cosmos. But Colonel Quatrich and his men are relentless. Will Jake Sully be able to save his family and Na’Vi land from invasion? what’s hot…
Views, views and more views. The most fascinating thing about Avatar: The Way of Water is the imagination of James Cameron and his team that brought it to life. It is fun to watch the 3D effect. If you like the fairy tale of Pandora, then the underwater seas of Metkayina are something else all together. At times, you’ll feel like you’re in the midst of wondrous creatures, including a giant version resembling a hammerhead shark. Talking about the characters, the film is more folk than Jake Sully. As Rebel, he brings the right amount of emotion. Her friendship with Paykan, an evil Tulkun, is one of the biggest highlights of the film. Stephen Lang is the perfect badass as Colonel Quatrich. Kate Winslet stars as Ronal while Cliff Curtis stars as Tonovary, leader of the Metakayna. The action at the end is really spectacular. From the boat chase of Talkun to the underwater kidnapping and hand-to-hand combat, you will be eyeing it every second. Cinematography is top class.

What is not…
The biggest disappointment is the story. Well, there was not much plot in Avatar too but the drama was intact. Here, there are hardly any high moments except for a couple towards the end. The dialogues are also very simple and fail to evoke any kind of emotion. Some of the scenes between Forrest and the teenagers of the Sea People are quite funny. It’s hard to imagine that there are five writers in a film. Over three hours may seem too long to some but the visuals make up for it.

BL decision
Avatar: The Way of Water will make you salute James Cameron and his vision. You would have to bow down to the technical and digital team that produced such an amazing film. Those looking for a story may be a bit disappointed. But Avatar 2 is modern filmmaking and should not be missed on the big screen.
