Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s Pathan is in constant discussion. Some fringe groups have said that they will simply not allow the film to be released in India. Looks like CBFC has made some changes in the film and now it is ready for release. The biggest point of controversy was the saffron colored bikini worn by Deepika Padukone in the song Besharam Rang. Now, the Delhi High Court has issued fresh directions to the makers of Pathan. But it is a welcome step for movie lovers. According to law news portal, Bar & Bench, the Delhi HC has asked the makers of Pathan to add “audio description closed captioning and subtitles in Hindi language” before Pathan is ready for OTT release. The film will be accessible to film lovers who are hearing and visual impaired. Also Read – ‘Pathan is a film that will make Shah Rukh Khan fans happy and proud’ – promises director Siddharth Anand

After the changes are made by the manufacturers, they should submit them to CBFC for re-certification. These changes should be made in the film before it comes on the OTT platform. As we know the craze for Pathan is huge. This is a good move to reach out to a new segment of people. Presiding judge Pratibha M Singh asked Yash Raj Films to submit these changes by February 20 and CBFC to take a decision by March 10. But no decision has been taken in this regard regarding the theater screening of Pathan on January 25, 2023. Amazon Prime Video has bought the OTT rights of the film. It seems that some lawyers, law students and people with hearing and visual impairment have filed the petition. They want filmmakers to make changes so that this section can also enjoy films. It seems that guidelines have been issued to provide Hindi subtitles but many producers do not care to provide such facilities. Pathan has English subtitles as of now. Abhishek Malhotra has represented Yash Raj Films and said that the changes will be implemented appropriately as per the direction of the court. The judge said that the producers need to ensure that everyone can enjoy movies in cinema halls by providing such facilities.
